The health service is appealing for Armed Forces veterans to come forward to help run hospitals and health centres.

NHS bosses say former soldiers have the perfect skills for frontline healthcare, including leadership, resilience and compassion.

To give candidates a taste of what to expect, the NHS is running open days at universities. Attendees can watch an occupational therapist treat patients via a live feed from a digital headset.
