The man, who is thought to be in the Royal Navy, was with a group of other Brits in Chennai, south east India, when he began his bizarre attack on commuters, local media reports. He is reportedly a crewmember on one of the two ships that had been anchored nearby for maintenance, and had gone on a trip into Royapettah with his fellow sailors. He appeared to be inebriated as he ran around the busy street biting people at random, with bystanders desperately trying to bring the attacker under control. Even as officers responded to the incident the man managed to slip away, and continued to wreak havoc. He is seen running away from cops before jumping on an unsuspecting man who is stuck in traffic on his moped. Another partially naked man, whose shirt has been ripped from his body with scraps of fabric hanging off him, appears to try and reason with his friend. He tries to push back the man in orange, and pleads with him: 'Leave it, leave it leave it... Toby, they're not going to let this go mate.' After seemingly convincing him to leave their friend, the man, who also appears to be drunk, then asks: 'Have you got his bag?' adding: 'We'll just get hold of Dean when we get back.' Indian media reports that two foreign nationals had been under the influence of alcohol when they caused a ruckus on a busy street in the city's Royapettah area. The men had reportedly been visiting a mall and that the man got into a dispute with an individual there before the chaos unfolded. One of the men is said to have removed his t-shirt completely before running around the street, causing havoc. Police reportedly questioned the men but no case is believed to have been registered. Tamil Nadu police and the Ministry of Defence have been contacted for comment.
