A severe weather warning has gone into effect across the Midwest and the South, affecting 75 million people.
Dangerous storms have been overtaking the Ohio Valley Tuesday, with both tornado and thunderstorm warnings being issued. The storms are supposed to pick up Tuesday afternoon, leaving a trail of destruction.
These storms are posing the greatest risk in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky, where a state of emergency was declared around 2 pm.
Tornadoes in these states could gain traction and stay on the ground for several miles.
In Kentucky, a tornado watch is in effect until 3 pm on Tuesday afternoon for the following counties: Larue, Marion, Taylor, Green, Nelson, Spencer and Washington. Isolated tornadoes, flash flooding, large hail and damaging winds are possible.
Winds are expected to reach upwards of 60 mph.
