The driver accused of killing a husband and wife in a horror collision involving three vehicles showed no remorse for the couple's deaths, a court has heard.
Trevor Schutz, 62, and his wife Catherine, 54, were travelling in their black Ford sedan near Penola, in South Australia's south-east, on Easter Sunday when the crash occurred.
The driver of a Ford ute, Shane Leistra, 51, allegedly crashed into them head-on at the intersection of Riddoch Highway and Three Mile Lane just after 5.15pm.
Emergency services rushed to help Mr and Mrs Schutz, but the pair died at the scene.
Two women, aged 42 and 69, who were travelling in a white Tesla, were also taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries as a result of the crash.
