A man, 38, has been arrested on suspicion of theft and an under-10s football team have been left devastated after money raised by parents to send their children to a football tournament 'goes missing.'

Members of the Vauxhall Astra Under 10's from Ellesmere Port, in Cheshire, were packed and ready to fly to Barcelona. However, days before the flight they learned that the £10,000 raised to pay for the trip was missing.

According to social media posts, the money, which was raised to pay the entry fee as well as the cost of accomodation and travel, was not paid to organisers. Instead, it is claimed the money was allegedly pocketed.

The children's parents had raised the money themselves through taking part in challenges including dribbling a ball up Moel Famau, one of Wales' tallest hills, and through help from local businesses.
