Chilling footage has emerged of a young girl hiding in a bush and seeking help after a terrifying attempted abduction in Melbourne.

An unknown man driving a grey Audi Q3 SUV allegedly told the 11-year to get in his car while she was walking home from school on Landscape Drive, Doncaster East, on Thursday, March 28.

She ran from the bushes and sought help from a nearby man who was with his daughter.

Newly acquired footage from 7NEWS captures the moment when the little girl seeks help following a frightening encounter. 

It shows her looking back at the street in terror as she tells him her phone died.
