Border crisis deepens: Migrants set up camps next to barbed wire in El Paso, ... trends now

Dozens of migrants are setting up camp along the El Paso, Texas border in full view of Border Patrol agents on the other side of the barbed wire fence stopping them entering America.

In depressing new photos from the crisis-struck region, the groups are seen napping on the ground feet away from Texas National Guard members Wednesday.

Others set up tents and lit small fires beneath trees to keep warm while their young children played nearby.

The migrants are technically already in the US, as the international boundary is the river and they are on the US side of the river. They are being prevented from physically walking up to Border Patrol agents.

Since a March 26 migrant riot, where hundreds of migrants forced their way past Texas troops, Gov. Greg Abbott has ordered that specific area of the border wall in the state's sixth largest city, known as Gate 36, be reinforced to crack down on crossings.

As the number of migrants living on the banks of the river continues to grow, authorities are sounding the alarm on criminals will mix with regular migrants at the border.
