Police are hunting a man seen on CCTV after a 16-year-old girl was reportedly raped in Liverpool city centre in the early hours of Friday morning. 

Officers attended St John's Gardens at around 1.50am on April 12 where they found the teenager who said she had been assaulted by an unknown man. 

The 16-year-old is being supported by specially trained officers and an investigation is currently underway.

Photos from the scene showed a police cordon in place near the Gladstone memorial, close to the King's Liverpool Regiment War Memorial.

Officers have now issued CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to as they believe he could assist with the investigation.
