Aussies have been left shocked after a second-year apprentice tradie revealed he was earning $150,000 a year.

The electrian made the candid admission about his pay packet after he was stopped on the street by jobs app GetAhead in Brisbane.

He revealed he had only been on the job for two years and that he was working at Queens Wharf after he was given a placement by Electrogroup - an organisation that trains electrical apprentices.  

'It's like lucky that I'm there,' he said in a TikTok video.

The tradesman, who works full-time, said the job was 'pretty awesome' and explained he prefers the work he is doing now, compared to some of the previous jobs he has done in the past. 

The sparky said that despite the hefty pay packet the job can be unsafe.
