Texas cops are hunting an armed and dangerous murder suspect who allegedly ran down a 75-year-old man in a stolen Ford Mustang. 

The suspect's crime spree began in New Mexico where he stole a Ford Mustang and police believe he is now on the run in Texas after fleeing on foot, local outlet Everything Lubbock reported.

He is thought to be somewhere in Irion County near the city of Mertzon, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety for the West Texas region.

Ector County police have released several images of the alleged murder suspect from home surveillance at a residence near where the homicide unfolded. 

He is described as a thin white male with blonde or light brown hair and was last seen wearing blue jeans and brown boots.
