Five boys have been arrested after they allegedly led police on a high speed chase across Melbourne in an allegedly stolen BMW.
Police allege the boys were armed with machetes during the 24-hour robbery and cigarette theft crime spree at various locations across the city.
The rampage came to a dramatic end late Tuesday night when police rammed the allegedly stolen BMW sedan to prevent further danger to the public.
It followed an hour-long chase through the city's CBD and eastern suburbs where the vehicle was allegedly driven erratically
