American on trial in Colombia for murdering DJ girlfriend, whose body was found ... trends now
An American on trial for the murder of his DJ girlfriend in Colombia suffered an anxiety attack before the start of a hearing and had to be rushed to a hospital.
John Poulos, 36, who confessed to murdering 23-year-old Valentina Trespalacios in January 2023, was seen being taken out in a stretcher from the courthouse Wednesday morning.
A male demonstrator later blocked the ambulance from leaving before a police officer intervened as people in the background could be heard shouting 'murderer.'
The trial hearing was rescheduled for Thursday morning as the defense and prosecution were expected to make their arguments, but it was postponed until April 30 because Poulos was hospitalized.
Poulos is accused of strangling Trespalacios at a home he rented during a visit last year.

During a trial hearing on March 6, the divorced father-of-two told the judge he and Trespalacios drank alcohol and took drugs and that he choked her with jewelry she had around her neck while they were having sex.
Poulos added he then fell asleep and later woke up. He noticed Trespalacios dead in the bed beside him.
He would admitted that while in a state of confusion he panicked and tried to hide her body.
