A terrifying pursuit of a dangerous driver high on cocaine who reached speeds of 80mph in a 30mph zone before losing control of his car has been revealed after he was jailed following his arrest by Sussex Police.
Paul Rudkin, 42, was behind the wheel of his blue Mini Cooper when he failed to stop for police in Keymer Road, Burgess Hill on December 10.
He was already wanted on a warrant for failing to attend court for drug driving when officers attempted to pull his car over, only for him to speed off and narrowly avoid a head on collision while reaching speeds more than double the legal limit.
Video footage shows how he attempted highly dangerous overtakes before losing control on a corner and spinning off the road and into a puddle.
Rudkin was sentenced to 10 months in prison and banned from driving after he was found to have ten times the legal drive limit of cocaine in his system.

Footage shows Rudkin narrowly avoiding crashing headlong into another vehicle, before recklessly overtaking other vehicles at blind corners as he fled from police.
The chase only came to an end when he hit a puddle on a corner and lost control, leaving his car spinning off the road.
The former landscape gardener, from Haywards Heath, was then arrested by officers from the Roads Policing Unit and Tactical Firearms Unit.
