A rare photograph of a Woolworths has caused a stir after eagle-eyed viewers noticed there were no self-service machines at the check-out. 

A customer noticed the server-only counters at a Sunnybank supermarket, in Brisbane, and shared it to Reddit on Wednesday.

'Woolies with no self serve. Everything went smoothly,' the shopper wrote. 

Only two per cent of Woolworths stores around the country are yet to have the self-serve checkouts installed, with Sunnybank being one of them. 

The photo triggered nostalgia for many shoppers.

'Ah yes, back when Woolworths looked and felt the same as browsing through an IGA. Good times,' one wrote.

'Is it just me, or did Woolies stores in the 90s/early 00s have a totally different vibe than today?' another said.

'Bring this back,' another wrote. 

'Ahh, back in the day when the checkout chick cared about their job,' one said. 

'You know, we've reached a point where we have a young generation that totally avoid face to face socialising,' another wrote.
