Daniel Owen, 27, was waiting for the bus with another man in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, on Wednesday at 5.45am when a fox ran up to them. The man claimed the animal was 'friendly' before it bit him - puncturing his skin and drawing blood, Daniel explained. The fox - known locally as 'Roxy' - had initially come up to them while they waited at the bus stop and started sniffing before it went for the man. The victim - who had his shopping in his hand - believed the fox was just being curious before it lashed out. Daniel, a delivery driver, from Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, said: 'I found it hilarious, I'm not one to get offended or shy away from blood. 'But I had the realisation that he might get something - so I felt a bit concerned. 'He just walked off, so I think he wasn't too bothered. 'When it happened we scared the fox off so it wouldn't try to attack anyone else.' It comes as people living in London said that urban foxes are taking over the city. The animals have been pictured riding public transport and prowling the streets in broad daylight. In social media videos, foxes are seen taking London buses during the day, spreading out along the back seats. One animal peers inquisitively at the passenger filming it but remains completely undeterred from its leisurely ride across the capital. According to the London Wildlife Trust there are an estimated 10,000 urban foxes in London. Another video shows one fox out in the day peering cautiously from left to right at a road and pausing for cars to pass by. Once it has deemed the journey safe enough, it trots across the road and creeps underneath a bench before disappearing into a hedge. Share or comment on this article: Fang-tastic Mr Fox!
