Evil Nottingham-triple killer pocketed £12k in tax-payer cash to secure cushy ... trends now
Nottingham triple-killer Valdo Calocane pocketed thousands in taxpayer cash to fund lawyers that secured his cushy sentence.
The monster received the payout in legal aid to cover the two-day sentencing where he received a psychiatric hospital sentence after admitting manslaughter instead of murder.
Families of victims Barnaby Webber and Grace O'Malley-Kumar, both 19, and caretaker Ian Coates, 65, have claimed they were 'rail-roaded' into accepting the lesser plea.
Figures released to MailOnline under Freedom of Information laws show Calocane was given £11,316.08 for legal fees during his sentencing in February.

Barnaby's mother Emma said it was 'abhorrent' that a murder charge against Calocane was not pursued.
Calocane was previously handed legal aid for a solicitor after being quizzed on suspicion of a sexual offence in March 2012.
Two further payments were made for legal help with mental health in September and October 2021, totalling £1,575.90 before his murderous spree.
