Developers start to rebuild some of the 88 new houses demolished in Cambridge ... trends now
Developers have started rebuilding homes on a new build site in Cambridge after 88 properties were razed to the ground thanks to 'foundation issues'.
Jaw-dropping photos released in March showed the Darwin Green estate on the edge of the university city had been left with nothing but a pile of rubble after the houses were plagued with defects.
Barratt and Wilson Homes Cambridgeshire admitted last year that all the affected properties would have to be demolished and rebuilt at a cost of £40million.
Now new pictures taken on Wednesday reveal that the long process of building the new foundations has begun.
The demolition work took place over an eight-week period at the start of the year and for the last month and a half there has been a big empty space where the houses once stood.
