An angry neighbour left an anonymous 94-word rant on the windscreen of a 'selfish driver's car who parked outside their home.

The fuming local from Frecheville, in Sheffield, vented their anger in the note after spotting a car they believe was left by a commuter.

However, the incident has left residents divided with one even claiming the owner lives on the street and has parked in the same spot.

In the note the resident claims the car has now left them unable to park in their own street, chastising the unknown driver as 'cheap' and environmentally unfriendly.

The note begins in red capital letters: 'I'm a selfish commuter who comes and parks badly on your street, taking up too much room because I can't park.'

It then continues in black writing: 'I come each day and park here, then walk to work elsewhere probably because I'm too cheap to pay for parking or be sensible and more environmentally conscious and to take the bus.

'I do this and park, taking up so much space that you can't park here, and I don't care because I'm a single commuter in a car and I don't care that you now can't park on your own road.'

A photo of the note was shared on social media by Sheffield Online Community last week asking locals in the South Yorkshire city for their thoughts.

The post received hundreds of likes and comments, but the reaction was divided over how wrong the parked motorist was.

Brin Staniforth wrote: 'I'd go to the extent of buying a cheap car, getting it taxed and making sure it's just barely roadworthy and parking it there, leaving it for a few years.'
