A furious customer has called out Australia Post after a driver's excuse for failing to deliver a package was proved wrong on CCTV.

The man received an alert that his parcel was unable to be delivered to his home in Ningi, north of Brisbane last Friday because of a 'locked gate'. 

'Good job AusPost,' he captioned a photo on Facebook which showed the 'attempted delivery' alert on his phone alongside a clip from his CCTV footage.

The grab showed the driveway gate wide open around the same time that Australia Post claimed they attempted to make the delivery.

The photo was inundated with comments from Aussies claiming to have encountered the same problem with the postage service.
