Stuart Hogg has been ordered to stay away from his estranged wife and her home before he left court in the back of his parents' car after denying abuse and stalking charges.
The former Scotland rugby captain, 31, pleaded not guilty to a domestic charge of acting in an abusive manner towards his ex Gillian, 36, who is the mother of their four children.
At Jedburgh Sheriff Court, no guilty pleas were also entered into causing fear and alarm during a disturbance in February.
Hogg was granted bail with special conditions not to contact his wife and not to enter her home in the East Boonraw area of Hawick, the BBC reported.
He is set to return to court on July 15 ahead of his trial on July 30.
