Awful footage has emerged of a group of attackers bashing a single mother in a troubled Outback town.
In the video, which was reportedly shot the week before last in the remote Nauiyu community on the Northern Territory's Daly River, 250km south of Darwin, five or six women and teenagers kick down a door to get to their victim.
When the flimsy door came off its hinges, the Indigenous woman cowering inside received a series of brutal blows to the head from the first attacker before being set upon by a swarm of assailants.

The woman's child is believed to have been present during the attack.
The mother is heard screaming as her attackers unleashed punches and kicks, as well as pulling her hair as she desperately tried to defend herself.

He said sadly this type of mayhem has become a normal part of life in the outer reaches of the Top End.
