Russian tycoon erects fence around £2.8m Buckinghamshire estate after ... trends now

A Russian tycoon has finally erected a fence around his £2.8m Buckinghamshire estate after a ferocious war with neighbours.

Alexander Mosionzhik's original plans evoked fury with locals living in the leafy village of Marley Bottom.

He was accused of trying to erect a 'Berlin Wall' and around his sprawling grounds with villagers claiming it would look like a 'prison'.

But now new photos show a chain-link fence on the borders of his palatial home, which Mr Mosionzhik's says will deter antisocial behaviour.

Locals had claimed it would ruin their countryside walks and harm wildlife and urged Buckinghamshire Council to block the millionaire's plans which they described as ugly.

He had proposed to build a six-foot metal palisade security fence but had instead opted for a chain-link fence to ease local concerns. Council planners later approved the plans.

But despite some locals being happy after the plans were changed, others expressed concern.

Simone Poli, 84, said she thought the erection of the fence had 'blocked' wildlife corridors.

It comes after she and her husband had noticed an increase in wildlife entering their garden since the fence was put up.

Speaking to the Bucks Free Press, she said: 'How it would affect the animals was one of our concerns in the beginning. We didn't object to the plans – we're too old! But I wish that I had now.'

Steve Pack, 46, who can see the fence clearly from his back garden, added: 'You see lots of deer in these fields and worrying what would happen to them was a big motivation for us to get involved.

'My main concern is what this shows you about the planning system. We put in lots of letters to the council but ultimately, I think it just came down to the applicant themselves saying, 'I don't want to make a fuss, so I'll change it.'

'If they had wanted to stick to their guns, I think
