Two Romanian fly-tippers who were caught after hero farmers blocked them in their vans have been ordered to pay more than £2,000.
Ionut Bancunlea, 33, and Adrian Bivolaru, 34, found themselves boxed in after they dumped tonnes of rubbish on a country lane near Meriden in the West Midlands.
Quick-thinking farmers used their cars to barricade the two white vans, after furious passers-by spotted the two men throwing black bin bags and pipes onto the road in the Packington Estate.
Warwickshire Police were then called and arrested the pair for what was described as 'some of the worst fly-tipping [the force] had seen in a long time'.
The drama comes 12 years after residents tried to stop an illegal traveller site by camping on the road for more than 600 days.
