The many faces of Rebecca Joynes: How paedo teacher put on a 'show' during ... trends now

Paedophile teacher Rebecca Joynes is awaiting sentencing for a litany of sexual offences against teenage boys and although the depth of her depravity has already been laid bare, the ex-teacher's body language offers up even darker motives.

Joynes, 30,  wrecked her career and the innocence of the two children by having a one-night stand with a 15-year-old pupil before she got pregnant by a second boy.

After being bombarded with comments from pupils  in her Year 11 maths class about how 'sexy' she was, the teacher invited one back to her luxury Salford Quays flat where they had sex twice.

Incredibly, despite being arrested and suspended after rumours of the illicit encounter spread, Joynes 'brazenly' went onto embark on a secret sexual relationship with one of his classmates.

It was finally exposed after she confessed to the second teenager – to whom she wrote a love letter saying 'every inch of you is perfect' – that she was pregnant with his child, which has since been taken away from her.

Throughout her trial, her body language and even her bold choices outfit suggested dramatic fluctuations in her mood and emotional state.

Joynes' naked desire to project vulnerability was evident, typified by her constant fondling of the bonnet for the child she had with her 16-year-old pupil - a habit that eventually prompted the prosecutor to accuse her of 'seeking sympathy.'

But as her lies were exposed in the dock her projected image slowly eroded.

Now MailOnline's resident body language expert Judi James breaks the down the ticks and subtle gestures Joynes used to try and con the jury into accepting her own distorted version of the truth.

During her two week trial at Manchester Crown Court, the sight of Joynes swanning into proceedings and smiling at the assembled press pack was common

Flashing a confident grin

During her two-week trial at Manchester Crown Court, Joynes often swanned past the assorted press and at times even flashed a grin.

In a picture above the beaming, self-assured teacher, in a silk shirt tied at the waist and proudly clutching her baby bonnet, looks a far cry from someone accused of child sex abuse.

This, according to Judi, was a classic diversion tactic.

She notes: 'With her long hair lightened by a few shades, Joynes sports a grin as she walks towards the camera.

'It’s an asymmetric smile rather than one of spontaneous and authentic happiness but the display of teeth and the congruent, crinkled eye-smile hint at a sense of either optimism or bravado here.

'The flowing white shirt with the red stripes reflects this mood of optimism and even attention-seeking. It’s a striking style and she’s knotted it at the waist to make it look even more flattering and sensational.

'Red suggests confidence and strong emotions, while Joynes tilted head hints at a desire to be liked or approved of.

'The pink baby bonnet is less conspicuous, hanging from a side pocket, and her eye-gaze suggests she is comfortable communicating with the cameras here.'

Throughout proceedings, Joynes' devoted father Stuart, a retired maths teacher, was an ever-present at her side.

The 54-year-old tearoom owner would arrive at court with his daughter, usually with an arm around her waist, and then escorted her to a car at the end of the day.

Judi notes: 'Joynes' body language changed coming out of the courtroom here though.

'Her father is in powerfully protective mode, pointing his finger and looking desperate to get his daughter away.

'Joynes state is complimentary to this shielding protection.

'Her head is down and her hands and her hair are used as a barrier and a curtain to hide her face.'
