A cyclist training for the Iron Man competition in the Laurentians died after colliding with a vehicle in Mont-Tremblant.

The 23-year-old native of Morin-Heights struck the back of a sports utility vehicle that had slowed down to allow other cars to pass on Duplessis Rd.

He was hospitalized in critical condition in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts and then transferred to a hospital in Saint-Jérôme, where he died of his injuries Saturday night.

According to Alexandre Boucher of the local police, no charges will be laid against the motorist, who is visiting from Massachusetts, since it was an accident.
