A four-year-old Jack Russell named GB has been left with a large, gaping wound in his neck after he was savagely attacked by three ‘pig dogs’ in his neighbourhood park.
The trio of dogs cornered GB as he wandered through McLennan Park in Takanini, south of Auckland, on July 17 with his owner Judy and four-legged companion Rosie.
‘They grabbed him around the neck and shoulders and tried to pull his skin over his head basically,’ Teresa Nairn, a vet nurse with the Auckland Veterinary Centre told Daily Mail Australia.
Judy, who was not injured, was eventually able to get GB and Rosie away from the ‘pig dogs’ – a term often used to describe large dogs bred for hunting.
