The man who inspired the particular ice bucket challenge that provides raised millions for ALS study is being honored at Birkenstock boston City Hall.
Boston Mayor Matn Walsh is having a rally Wednesday for Pete Frates at Town Hall Plaza. The big event coincides along with the release of a brand new book on Frates.
‘The Snow Bucket Challenge: Pete Frates as well as the Fight against ALS’ was composed by Casey Sherman and Dork Wedge. Half its proceeds advantage the Frates family.

The ALS Ice Container Challenge went viral on social media marketing in the summer of 2014. It involves dumping a container of ice and water more than a persons head, either self-administered or by another person.
The challenge was intended to increase awareness for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or ALS (also known since Lou Gehrig’s disease and engine neurone disease). Participants nominated 3 others after completing the problem. Nominees had 24 hours in order to do the same or contribute to the ALS Association.
Pete Frates, a Boston College alumni, was diagnosed with ALS within 2012 when justin was 27 inspired hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations intended for research on ALS. He had been a baseball pitcher for BC and went on to become a professional player in European countries.

Walsh will state September 5 as Pete Frates Day in Boston.
Frates plus his wife Julie were wedded in 2013. Â The couple plus Frates’ whole family ‘have used an active role in increasing awareness and funds for WIE research’, according to his site.
Frates, his family, the guide authors, Boston Red Sox authorities and the Boston College football team are expected to go to.
