A gastro outbreak has reportedly caused passengers travelling on a cruise ship to fall ill.

A norovirus, which causes gastro, has allegedly broken out on the Celebrity Solstice, which docked in Melbourne on Wednesday morning, according to The Herald Sun.

The illness causes severe vomiting and diarrhoea and is highly contagious.
