Hunt for thug filmed beating man with crowbar in Luton

Shocking footage has emerged showing a man being brutally attacked with a crowbar as witnesses appeared to watch on without intervening.

In the video circulated widely online a man can be heard crying out in pain as he appears to be struck several times with a large bar.   

The incident happened on Manchester Street in the Bedfordshire town in the early hours of Thursday.

Police say at around 1.10am the man got into a dispute and was assaulted with what officers believe was a crowbar.

In a disturbing clip filmed by a pedestrian, a man is laying on the road in between a taxi and a car as a man appears to strike him at least seven times with the metal device.

The man with the pole then appears to run out of view from the camera, leaving the individual in the middle of the street as blood gushes from a wound on his head.

At this stage a passerby intervenes and takes the man's pulse. It is understood the emergency services were contacted.

Police have released CCTV images of two men they would like to speak to in connection to the incident.
