Labour suspended Carl Sargeant (file image) over the allegations on Friday
dead just days after he was suspended from the party due to sex allegations.
Former Welsh Government minister Carl Sargeant, 48, was found dead at an address in North Wales earlier today.
A spokeswoman for North Wales Police said officers were investigating an 'incident' relating to married father-of-two Mr Sargeant.
The spokeswoman said: 'We are investigating an incident in Connah's Quay. There are no further details available.'
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said: 'This is terrible and deeply shocking news.
'My thoughts and profound sympathy are with Carl's family, friends and colleagues.'
On Friday Sargeant insisted he had resigned after being told that 'shocking and distressing' allegations had been made against him.
But Labour party sources said he was sacked.
