Horse owner watches three Clydesdales killed by lightening

A South Australian woman was forced to watch as three of her beloved horses were struck down and instantly killed by a lightning strike.

Lynn Brierley was inside Wednesday evening at her property in Mount Gambier as a storm began to roll in, but ventured outside after realising one of her horses still had its rug on. 

That was when with one giant crack, about four metres from where she was standing, three of her beautiful four-legged friends were hit with a lightning bolt.

In a 'gunshot-like' instant, the lives of three of her gentle giants were taken.

Ms Brierley announced the heartbreaking news to Facebook on Wednesday evening.
