Rally champion killed after his plane was hit by a chopper

A former rally champion from Scotland has been killed after the plane he was piloting was hit by a helicopter in Spain.

Donald Milne, from Aberdeen, a mentor to the late rally driving great Colin McRae, was rushed to hospital after the collision in Alicante, in the country's south east, but was later declared dead.

Eyewitnesses said the 65-year-old ex-pat's Bucker Biplane was struck as the helicopter was coming in to land at the Mutxamel airfield on Saturday.
