A Western Australian man who pretended to rob a bank as a joke has been slapped with a fine just under $5000.

Jordean Menmuir, 28, entered a Western Australian Commonwealth Bank branch on December 21 and yelled: 'I’m robbing the f****** bank, everyone get down on the ground.'

He entered the bank after coming off a three-day bender and made the joke for other family member's who were withdrawing money at the bank at the time said Legal Aid WA lawyer Zoe Kickett according to Perth Now.
