James de Hauteville, 47, hurled his wife through her hair salon window as their six-year-old daughter begged him to stop, a court heard
An estranged husband hurled his wife through her hair salon window as their six-year-old daughter begged him to stop, a court heard.
James de Hauteville, 47, allegedly flew into a rage when his wife asked him whether he had found a place to live.
De Hauteville grabbed her by the neck and repeatedly smashed her head into a sofa at her salon in northLondon, the Old Bailey heard.
He then threw her through the front window, it was said.
Mrs de Hauteville suffered a 7cm gash to her right arm during the attack on September 6 last year and was left covered in blood.
However she has refused to give evidence against him in court.
'I don't condone what happened but I will not be testifying against my husband,' she told jurors at the Old Bailey.
'My husband had a mental breakdown and I think his mental health needs to be looked at.
Mrs de Hauteville said their marriage had broken down and her husband had spent the week before the incident living at his sister's.
De Hauteville picked up his daughter from school and dropped her off at the salon before having a heated conversation with his wife.
