Police have identified the woman who was shot dead in a busy mall and the ex-husband they say killed her before turning the gun on himself.
Parisa Siddiqi, 29, was slain around 2.17pm on Saturday in The Oaks mall in Thousand Oaks, a wealthy city on the outskirts of Los Angeles, by 33-year-old ex-husband Kevin Crane, cops said.
Crane survived after attempting suicide inside Paper Source, the stationary store where Siddiqi worked, and remains hospitalized in critical condition, according to the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.
The couple had two young sons who were not present at the shooting, and have been found safe.

Crane works as a realtor in Beverly Hills, according to state licensing records.
He claimed in an online bio that he had worked as a child actor for Disney and Warner Brothers, including in the movie Little Giants, although his name does not appear in the credits.
The bio went on to say that Crane had 'close ties to the entertainment industry' and 'a star studded client base'.
Friends expressed their shock at Siddiqi's death on social media.
'We have known each other for a long time and I will never forget your beautiful smile and your contagious laugh!' one wrote on Facebook.
'You were taken way too early and my heart goes out to your family and your beautiful boys in this time,' she said.
The horror shooting unfolded on a busy Saturday afternoon when the mall was bustling with shoppers and employees.
The sound of gunshots rang out, sending shoppers fleeing out of the mall's exits.
Crane said he had 'close
