Father plunges into a five-metre-deep cave in Perth

A father who plunged into a pitch-black cave escaped death after crawling almost ten metres to safety with a punctured lung and two broken ribs.

Paul Cartwright was walking in Bonarup Forest, south of Perth, on Friday afternoon when he plunged into a five-metre-deep cave after slipping on a sandy path.  

He suffered a punctured lung, two broken ribs, and a nasty cut on his face.
