Former President Jimmy Carter answered in the affirmative when asked by Late Show host Stephen Colbert if America wanted a 'kind of jerk for president.'
'Apparently from this recent election, yes,' Carter answered. 'I never knew it before.'
Colbert talked about how Carter, 93, was voted into office after the presidencies of Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford, with Nixon – who likely would have been impeached if he hadn't resigned – seeming, as the comedian put it, 'like a son-of-a-b****.'
