A huge fire has broken out near the Olympic Stadium in east London.

The blaze is being tackled by eight fire engines and 58 firefighters at car warehouse on Wick Lane in Hackney.

There were people reported to be in the warehouse when the blaze broke out but a London Fire Brigade spokesperson confirmed to MailOnline that all people were accounted for and there were no fatalities.

Shocking footage shows the blaze in front of the London Stadium in Stratford, where the 2012 Olympics were held.

The blaze appears to have taken hold on the opposite side of the River Lea from the London Stadium, the home of West Ham.

Footage shows flames in the air with smoke
