Australians are dobbing in Centrelink cheats as the government chases more than $100million worth of fraudulent welfare claims.

In the last five years 500,000 people have come forward to notify authorities about someone they believe is cheating the system.

A Tasmanian resident was sentenced to a jail term for making false welfare claims after they falsely claimed $150,000 in single parent benefits when they were actually married.
