Montreal arson investigators are examining the circumstances of an apparent firebombing attempt early Thursday in Côte-St-Luc.

The incident occurred at 3 a.m. when an object police describe as a possible firebomb was thrown against the garage door of a residence on Wallenberg Rd. near Cavendish Blvd.

Firefighters arriving on the scene found the device had already extinguished on its own.

Police have no witnesses and a motive for the incident has yet to be established.
