One parent and three children found dead inside North Dakota home

One parent and three children have been found dead in a North Dakota home, police have revealed. 

The bodies were discovered by a Grand Forks police officer who was making a welfare check on Thursday morning. 

A maintenance worker on the property claim the victims are a mom in her forties and her three young children.  

Officials from Lewis and Clark Elementary School had asked the police to conduct the check.

An officer who arrived at the home spotted a body inside and forced entry to get inside. That's when the four bodies were discovered. 

No information was immediately released about how the four died.

Police are also withholding the names of the dead until relatives have been notified
