The driver who fatally ran over two children in a crosswalk in Brooklyn, including the four-year-old daughter of a Broadway actress, has been charged.
Dorothy Bruns, 44, was arrested on Thursday at her Staten Island home and charged with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and reckless driving, according to officials.
Bruns told police she had a history of seizures and suffered one while behind the wheel, causing the accident that killed Joshua Lew, one, and Abigail Blumenstein, four.
The accident prompted outrage from city officials, including Democratic Mayor Bill de Blasio, who said she never should have been behind the wheel if she had a serious medical condition.

Moments before the crash, the two kids and their mothers had just gotten off the bus and were crossing the street when Burns who was driving a white Volvo sped through the intersection at 9th Street and Fifth Avenue in Park Slope, striking the families.
Horrifying video captured at the scene shows the white car rolling into the crosswalk as the unsuspecting pedestrians are struck.
Such drivers could be people with serious medical conditions.
Blumenstein, who is pregnant, was hospitalized in intensive care but later said in a statement that she was healing.
