Backlash over Woolworths' plastic bag ban has continued, with customers accusing the supermarket chain of refusing to pack groceries into competitor-branded bags.

Furious customers took to social media to claim staff had knocked back their reusable bags for being 'too dirty' or having holes in them.

One user claimed her father had gone to the supermarket prepared with reusable bags but was told he couldn't use them because they weren't Coles-branded.

'There was no mention or offer whatsoever of these so called complimentary bags that are supposedly available until 8th July,' the angry customer said.
