Famous New York bar shuts down indefinitely after early morning fire

The Dead Rabbit has closed its doors until further notice after early Sunday fire   Owners said bar 'received considerable fire and water damage' on Facebook  It's still unclear what caused the fire, but no one was injured, firefighters said The Dead Rabbit claimed the top spot for the World’s 50 Best Bars in 2016

One of New York's most famous bars will shut its doors until further notice after an early morning fire broke out on Sunday.  

The owners of the Dead Rabbit Grocery and Grog said the bar 'received considerable fire and water damage'. 

According to the New York Fire Department, firefighters responded to the award-winning bar around 7.30am after receiving a report of a fire in the bar’s kitchen ventilation system.
