A missing teenager has survived the freezing cold wilderness in soaking wet clothes after he went missing for 14-hours.

Shane Richards, 18, disappeared around 11pm on Saturday when he walked away from his Toorongo Falls campsite, two-hours east of Melbourne.

The disappearance struck wide-spread fear for the young man's life as he was forced to endure temperatures close to zero degrees, 9news reported.
