Boy falls from hotel balcony in Majorca as mother tried to save him

A 14-year-old Irish boy has been rushed to hospital after falling from his second-floor hotel room balcony.

Police said the youngster's mum was holding onto the youngster in a desperate attempt to help him reach safety when he plunged around 20 feet.

The incident happened just after midnight on Wednesday at the four-star Eix Lagotel in Playa de Muro, a beautiful blue flag beach in the north-east of Majorca.
