The first pictures have emerged of a woman whose body was found in the trunk of a car being driven by a 'troubled' man who shot himself after being pulled over.
Maddilyn Burgess, 28, from Massachusetts, was found stuffed into the back of a car being driven by 34-year-old Gyrth Rutan last week.
Police stopped Rutan's car near Gardiner, in Maine, on Thursday evening after noticing it was being driven erratically.

Rutan, who also lived in Massachusetts, shot himself in the head with a shotgun immediately after being stopped by officers on Thursday night
After stopping he stepped out of his vehicle with a shotgun in his hand, pointed it towards his own head, and pulled the trigger.
Officers later discovered what they believe was the murder scene at Rutan's home in Sturbridge, around a three hour drive from where he was stopped.
Medical examiners said Burgess died of blunt force trauma.

'And someday you'll turn back and I won't be waiting for you any longer. I might have been worthless to you, but you'll miss me when I become priceless to another.'
Burgess's exact relationship to Rutan is not clear, though she had posted about getting over a break-up multiple times on social media in recent weeks
Around two weeks later she uploaded another status saying: 'How to know you're on the right track to getting over someone: seeing/talking to them doesn't summon any feeling, positive or negative; there are no tears to choke back, your blood doesn't boil, and their
