They looked back at several fond memories but they also paid tribute to Denise Robertson with a heartbreaking segment on This Morning.
Holly Willoughby could be seen crying after watching a segment on Denise’s charity work in Uganda.
Phil Vickery took a trip back to Uganda to see how a young boy named Fred was doing 14 years after Denise first met him.
Following the tribute, Holly struggled to fight back tears as she commented: “We miss her very much.”
The tribute saw Denise take a trip to Uganda in 2004 where she met two young boys who had lost their mother.
Fred was looking after his younger brother Emmanuel and Denise was heartbroken when she learned of their situation.
Returning to This Morning, she explained she had chosen to sponsor Fred in the hope he could get a good education and continue to take care of Emmanuel.
Ahead of the show’s 30th birthday, Phil returned to Uganda and met up with Fred.
He revealed that following Denise’s visit, they now had a well to get fresh water in the village.
