However, it seems the exit could have been a result of a mistake made by Anton, 52, as he was joined by his Strictly Come Dancing partner Susannah, 56, on todays edition of Loose Women.
The couple were appearing on the ITV panel show to discuss their exit from the BBC dancing competiton.
Anton was reunited with his partner from last year, Ruth Langsford, 58, as the TV presenter led the panel.
It was Ruth who picked up on the moment, as she revealed to Anton she noticed he made an error while watching the show at home.
I watched that and thought ‘he’s gone wrong'
As the conversation moved to Saturday’s performance of the Foxtrot, Anton was shown footage of his routine, with the professional admitting to "tripping over [his] left foot".
Ruth was quick to highlight the mistake, telling Anton: “I thought that was your mistake, I watched that and thought, ‘He’s gone wrong'.”
Anton revealed what actually happened, as he told the ITV panel: “Well the heel fell off my shoe.”
The error was discussed as part of Anton’s explanation of the Strictly experience, telling the Loose Women it’s different to just simply dancing.
“The whole thing about Strictly Come Dancing, it it’s a shared experience with somebody.
“Not in a normal sort of world, in normal life, you would teach somebody how to dance then go off and dance and they ago and do a composition with their partner or whatever they’re going to do," he continued.
