The coin was listed this morning on eBay for a whopping £800 - 1,600 times its intended 50p value.
The seller, known as “juggler444”, titled the listing: “Circulated Rare Peter Rabbit 2016 50p.”
Giving more info away, the item’s description read: “Very rare circulated Beatrix Potter Peter Rabbit 50 pence piece from 2016
“Very good condition.”
The coin was listed for a seven-day auction, with the starting price at £800.
Open to accepting less than the asking price, the Norwich-based seller has also given the option to “make an offer”.
